For more than 20 Years, ‘American Idol’ has been a launching pad for rising stars in the music world. With its signature format—auditions, live performances, and fan votes—Idol has created a platform for aspiring artists to realize their dreams. Now, with the “Idol Across America” virtual auditions, you can try out from the comfort of your home and maybe even become the next big star.
The audition format for the 2024/2025 season will be virtual, just like in recent years. Although the auditions are online, they will happen in real time, so aspiring contestants must register online ahead of time. After you register, you’ll get all the details about the audition process and how you can join the West & Midwest Open Call on September 4th or 6th, depending on your state.

Eligibility Requirements
- Participants must be born between June 2, 1995, and February 15, 2010.
- Contestants must be legal U.S. residents and authorized to participate throughout the entire competition.
- Candidates must not be running for public office and must agree not to run for public office until one year after the final episode of the program they appear on has aired.
