Amy Shark, Marcia Hines, and Kyle Sandilands are back as judges for the 2025 season of Australian Idol. Filming for the new season is already underway, with auditions currently taking place in Sydney.
According to a recent report from The Daily Telegraph, the judges are excited to see what this season’s contestants will bring. Kyle Sandilands expressed enthusiasm for the diversity of talent, saying, “We’ve had a good couple of days. Last year’s diverse group really inspired a lot of great people to try styles we haven’t seen before.”
Amy Shark shared that the bar was set incredibly high last season, and their expectations for 2025 are even greater. “Last season naturally set the bar super high, so I think our expectations are even bigger this season,” she said.
Marcia Hines also noted a change in the way the judges are evaluating talent. “We’re seeing people who are extremely different. In the past, they might have been a straightforward ‘no,’ but now we’re questioning whether they just have a quirky side we haven’t seen yet,” Hines explained.
While Seven Network has not yet announced its 2025 Upfronts, they are expected to take place in November. Fans are eagerly awaiting more details about what’s in store for the upcoming season of Australian Idol.
